About the champagne
Pol Roger was founded in 1849. This renowned brand is still owned and run by the descendants of Pol Roger, producing champagnes of worldwide acclaim. The Pol Roger champagne house owns prime vineyards in the Vallée d'Epernay and on the Côte des Blanc, based around the town of Epernay in the Champagne region. An important aspect of the production of Pol Roger champagnes are the 7km cellars, being the coolest cellars in the Champagne region. This is where the champagne undergoes its secondary fermentation in bottle. The low temperature prolongs the fermentation process and this plays an important role in obtaining the specific style of this full bodied quality champagne, famous for its fine bubbles.
